Trivia

When the group falls into the library in the Neitherlands, the librarian calls Margo "Janet" before she corrects her. This is a reference to her character's real name in the books (that was changed to reduce confusion between her, Julia and Jane). See more »

The show is very quirky and fun.

I immensely enjoyed the beginning. It was also a nice idea on Syfy's part to make the first episode available on Youtube before the actual series premiere, as it was what got me to take an interest in it in the first place.

It's certainly refreshing to see a show that is not a procedural drama. The characters and the plot lines are intriguing enough to keep the audience wanting more. I couldn't help myself and started reading the book series, unable to wait for the next episode.

People may compare aspects of it to Harry Potter, I'd like to argue that it is very different, because it has the potential to explore mature themes in a way Harry Potter never did. The rich and diverse characters also allow it to explore all the different aspects of the magical world that is created.
